WHAT IS r-HDPE AND WHY USE IT?

r-HDPE is a secondary raw material created through the recycling of plastic waste, most commonly sourced from households or industrial processes. After careful sorting, cleaning and regranulation, the material gains a second life while retaining many of the properties of virgin HDPE and significantly reducing environmental impact.

Compared to conventional HDPE, recycled material:

PROPERTIES AND APPLICATIONS OF r-HDPE BOTTLES

Although recycled material may have slightly different colouring or a subtly textured surface, it retains most of the key advantages of HDPE:

On request, we can also colour bottles in custom shades or create special colour blends while maintaining the required PCR content. Semi-transparent variants are also available.

COST OF r-HDPE PACKAGING

Due to the more complex production process and the higher cost of certified recycled granulate, bottles with high recycled content are typically more expensive than standard HDPE packaging. The main factors influencing pricing include:

• percentage of PCR material used,
• bottle colour (natural shades are more cost-effective than pigmented versions),
• closure type and additional components such as pumps, atomisers or labelling.
